What you need to know about coal and the Eastlake Power Plant

The Eastlake Power Plant is a coal-fired power plant located in Willoughby, Ohio that is owned by dirty energy utility FirstEnergy. This plant is responsible for 63 deaths, 100 heart attacks, and 960 asthma attacks each year as a result of the pollution it spews out.

Although FirstEnergy announced in January 2012 that bit would be closing the plant by September, 2012, it has since retracted and plans to close have been pushed ahead to 2015. Let’s hope that FirstEnergy honors its second promise! They owe it to the people of Willoughby, Ohio. Closing this plant will prove that people are more important than polluters.Click here to find out more about this plant...
